This week marks one year since Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych’s inauguration. A lot was promised in the run up to the election but have those pledges been fulfilled? Later this week Transitions Online will be exploring this issue as well as looking at the country’s economic situation and comparing democratic freedom to that in neighboring Belarus.

As in Belarus, user-generated video content has played an important role in documenting the country’s elections and aftermath. In support of this we’re calling on our readers to contribute multimedia content to accompany our reports. Please get in touch if you’ve spotted something on the web which you think is worthy of inclusion, or indeed if you’ve shot some amateur footage yourself.

We’d specifically like to find out the impact of Yanukovych’s presidency on the people of Ukraine and how the country has been affected over the past year.

Please email us at multimedia@tol.org or, if you’ve got a YouTube account, you can share your videos directly with us via www.youtube.com/transitionsonline
