It is clear that for christian communities in the region both for Arm and Geo the resettlement of Muslim communities will cause some discomfort. However it is much exaggerated by Armenians in the republic of Armenia and Russia, sticking firmly to Russian agenda to keep Armenia at raw with Turkey and prevent regional integration. Muslim subject is widely used to cause false patriotism in Armenia against Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgian Muslims as well. However Armenians forget that there are more than million ethnic Armenian Muslims in Turkey and elsewhere. Armenian nationalism sometimes goes beyond permissible.

Dear Sir,

For years now, Georgian authorities have been using Armenians as an excuse not to take Meskhetians back into Georgia.

Meskhetian villages were mostly in the northern part of Samkhtse-Javakheti, and not in the southern, Armenian-inhabited part.

All Meskhetian villages were resettled by Georgians. Not a single Georgian village was resettled by Armenians. So it is Georgians who would be affected by the return of Meskhetians reclaiming their ancestral lands, not Armenians.

Yet, the Georgian government keeps using the Armenian excuse, and naive western journalists keep buying into it...

Respectfully yours,

Kersam Mavian
